Stories by Alethea Lyons
Legend: Hello. I'm delighted to introduce one of LK Morgan's characters to you. While we mostly chat to people who are in published, or soon-to-be published books, today's guest is still querying. Their author is friends with my author so I guess she's proving the idiom of 'it's not what you know...' Tsk, tsk. You can hear some of LK Morgan's work in the Storytime nook over there.

Legend: First of all, please introduce yourself. Name, pronouns if you wish, and tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
Archie: It’s best you don’t know my full name, it comes with complications, so call me Archie. My mum always said that was…endearing and normal.
Hmmm, an interesting fact. How about I see dead people?
I can’t believe Ethan thought this would be good publicity.
Legend: Good name safety there. As many in the audience may have guessed, 'Legend' isn't exactly what my parents named me, but I'm not going to give strangers that kind of power. Archie, can you tell us a bit about the world you live in?
Archie: World? Umm, earth… 3rd rock from the sun. A tiny village on the edge of the Lincolnshire fens to be more specific. My Gran’s manor house is where I sleep. It’s this obnoxiously large tutor house that belongs in the past. I’m not staying much longer, though; as soon as I turn eighteen, I am out of this hell hole.
Legend: That's not too far from where my author grew up. Let’s have a quick-fire round of This or That. Try to just answer and not think too hard about it.

Legend: That was fun. Let's take the pressure off of you for a bit. What’s the most embarrassing story you know about one of your fellow characters?

Archie: Ethan has waaaay too many stuffed animals for a 17-year-old boy and still hasn’t kissed anyone.
Legend: Ooh, so who or what is the love of your life?
Archie: Love is false, and I have no desire to get entangled in it. Humans/people rely on each other; basic biology ensures the species’ survival, and some cosmic laugh to ensure their souls are fed into the machine. Please don’t believe in myths.
Legend: Kind of tough when I am a myth, but I guess you could be talking to yourself. Back to awkward for you. If you had to hide a body, whose would it be and who would you ask to help you?

Archie: I’m more in the business of finding them, but my old maths teacher would be high up on the list. Ethan obvs. The only mortal I deem worthy of trusting, in so far as he’s yet to rat me out.
Legend: Kinda gotta believe in some myths yourself then. If you could go back and do one thing differently, what would it be?

Archie: Not have hurt that boy (even if he deserved it). My life went downhill from there.
Legend: Good wish. Interesting reasoning. If you know a martial art, tell us about it and how you got into it.

Archie: Three of them. I like to combine them with swordplay.
Legend: I have a friend who'd like to test that out with you, I reckon. How do you feel about magic? If you use magic, tell us a bit about it.
Archie: I don’t practice, I don’t need to. But a girl I know does, and she’s proving useful, so, yeah, magic is ok. As long as she doesn’t turn me into a toad or anything. Sometimes, when she looks at me, I know she’s considering it.
Legend: Let's end on a positive. What is the nicest random act of kindness you’ve performed?

Archie: Moved a ghost into the afterlife for free. That's some Mother T level sacrificing right there.

Legend: Mother Tea? Oookay. Well, thanks for joining us today, 'Archie'. It has certainly been an interesting chat and we're looking forward to seeing your book out there one day!
